Default How much space is required to short stagger?

So..... the more I research this the more it intrigues me to go with a staggered setup. I currently have a side by side setup in my 95 Black Thunder GT non step.

The question I have is how much room from the transom to the front of the forward engine? This will help me identify if a staggered setup is doable without a n extreme amount of work. The plan is to run Imco -4's, this way I don't eat up a bunch of space with the transmission.

It would be great to see what the other staggered setups are using for space.

I talked to a couple people they have around 90 inches, but they are also running transmissions.

I know there are a lot more staggered setups out there. I would love to here what the measurements are. It can be full stagger, short stagger, with transmission or without any info would be helpful. Pics would be even better.

Thanks

Could always put your tranny's in the Stellings Box like
Check300 did on his #6 set up for lack of room.

I have been talking to Jason about this over the last few weeks. He is where I got the 90 inches from. He has a short staggered setup. One thing that is different between his GT and mine is his is newer so it has the built in extension box which allows for more space.

I am really curious to see what some of the boats have for space that are running a staggered xr setup.

Not to get off track from Jason's topic.
And I'm not sure what mercury and the others are doing.

But Earhart Engineering figured it out 25 years ago
running low compression and high boost and no turbo lag.

Boost is always safer than compression.

Also with turbo's the engine only builds boost
when it senses load and the boost will relax
once the load fades.

SC has boost all the time once you hit the target RPM

In short the key is usually on 24lbs off boost, but it really
doesn't matter on any of the three setting because the
engine is only going to use whats needed for the given load.

Just gets there quicker and bleeds off the excess boost if
boost exceeds the setting.

Thanks
Jon

Hey Jon- You are absolutely right about Jason and Dennis first class folks. I had a chance to meet them tonight while being in Minnesota on business. I spent a few hours just talking with them and checking out thier boat. They have a ton of knowledge and their GT is absolutely amazing.

It was interesting to see first hand how they rigged it for staggereds. I can see where I can save a few inches with using a imco scx-4 since there will be no trans, but will have to shoe horn it in there.

Still debating if I want to take on the task. Hoping some folks would chime in with some measurements on staggerred bravo setups. That will be the deciding factor.

Sounds like a great trip, I would go for it in a heartbeat.
Little work, but the luxury following will be well worth it.
