Default Boat Movies?

Why are there no great high performance boat movies?

Thinking a bit about this it seems like the only show that played to boats was "flipper" ( I am dating myself). I can think of so many story lines where cool boats would play a major role, it seems off that movie producers have not jumped all over this!

Are there great boat movies I am possibly unaware of?

Thanks!

My boat was in XXX: State of the Union until it ended up on the cutting room floor.

I was on set last year in the midsdle of making a movie with zac effron, dennis quade, heather grahm just to name a feew and i asked the stunt quardinator why they dont make as many movies wit boats involves as they do with cars,,he said its more dangerous for the fear of someone drowning and it costs almost double to make a movie because of the extra boats, helicopter etc involved..

I don't doubt what you say, but that is so lame. Helicopters are used in so many movies and footage coming in from poker runs etc. is awesome. As for boats, I bet there are tons of folks that would work with producers to get some hot boats in the footage for a reasonable cost.

Thank goodness for youtube, it is so nice to be able to kick back and see hot boats and people having a great time.

...and can you think of a better scenario for some of the hottest women ever to hit the "big screen"? :-)

"Live and let die" some of the best boat chase scenes ever. my dad was there for part of the filming as he was VP of marketing for Glastron at the time. at one point Roger Moore decided he wanted to go for a boat ride when they were not filming and took on of the Carlsons with a jet drive. he was running through the swamps and panicked and cut the throttle and promptly crashed it into a tree and busted his mouth open on the steering wheel. now you know why they have stunt men!
