Gel or Paint

Hi..I have a hull 35' which has being painted over the gel..(by previous owner), the paints looks tired and starts pealing..here is the question...re-paint the hull or gel now?
What do you guys think? Looking for the best and most economic solution here...Thanks!

if your boat is peeling the paint is going to have to come off either way..if you try and top coat it with gel it will blister and look like chit when the gel hits the paint..its going to be a hard call with out seeing it and experimenting with whats their now..

Any idea what the best case scenario is here..ie cost wise getting the paint of and gel coating her? Average..??
Also I have being told that once it's painted it's better to leave it painted, and paint has a lot of advantages over gel?

Gel would cost more, likely MUCH more. Gel is very arduous to apply. You are better off going with paint especially if it has been painted once already.
