Default Boat Hop

This last weekend was pulling the boat out of the marina to take to the house for winter storage. Before I put it on the trailer I went to run it up for a last of year speed rush. This was the first time I ran it up with it almost out of gas. Around 85 the boat started to hop. I tried to trim down but that did not make a difference. Since I was concerned about running out of fuel I just shut it down and put it on the trailer. I have never had it this low on fuel before so had not experence this before.

Is there some way to stop this without having to slow down? I have driven a boat that had a porpoise that you could power thru but this was where the compete boat was doing a level hops.

How doe's Your boat fit Your trailer?? Eliminator sould have a great trailer but if they didn't fit Your boat You may have a bottom problem now. Just thinking with a keyboard. Artie

i have a 31 ft american offshore cat that starts to pourpus at around 70 mph and will continue till about 95 mph,so i dont run it in that speed peramiter,if i want to go above 70 i power it up to 100 and hold it there.i am not familar with a 30 ft eliminater, but i would bet that you could power past it,providing you have the hp to do so.

My daytona will hop slightly if the water is really smooth or its loaded with people. Most times I just drive threw it.

Was the water "sticky"?

Boat is 30' Eliminator Cat. Boat has plenty of power to get past 100. I have had it over 100 a few times and never had it hop like this before. I had tried trimming all the way down and it did not make any difference. This time was the lightest the boat has ever been since almost out of fuel.

Boat sits on a trailer all winter and boat lift all summer. Lift bunks were made from measurements from
trailer.

Water was fairly flat but was not glass.

Prob just trying to stay in flight and was falling off. Bet if you stayed in it.....it would of started to fly level.

Check out all these cats hopping before they gain speed.

you may need a tunnel tab if it really bothers you or just keep more fuel in the boat..
