What speeds can you expect, how do they handle 2-4 ft wake

That's a popular boat so you'll likely get an actual owner to reply. Do you mean 2 to 4 seas? No boat like steep 4' boat wakes!

You will have to drive it in 2-4. My bud had a 260 with a 496 375 hp it ran 65mph. My brothers 280 with a 496 425 hp ran 72 mph.

My 2000 260 with the 496HO can hit 74 in premium conditions. Maybe a touch more if I get some prop work done, etc. I can consistently run 70 though with another person or two onboard and medium fuel load. I cruise at 55 or so to conserve fuel. For anything over 60, you really need at least the external hydraulic steering. (full is recommended). I have the external only and you REALLY feel the slop in the cable at 65+!!! This is the only reason I have not pushed it further with a labbed prop.
As for 2-4 foot wakes. Let's just say it is a fun ride. Make sure you take them at a 45-degree minimum angle (or head on) when at speed and hang on. The boat feels very solid in rougher waters, but it is a hairy ride due to it's size and weight. Having just stepped down from a 34-ft Sea Ray, it was a re-learning experience.

Do you know what prop your brother is running (280/496ho)? I have the same setup and need a prop.

It is a 496 Mag-HO (425 HP). I am running a stock Bravo II 26p prop.
