New this year is the Twilight show.

On Saturday, August 17 dusk brings the Twilight Air Show with a focal point at Navy Pier. The show takes place from 6:45 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., with fireworks topping the night off at 10:15 p.m.

We are thinking of running down from Withrop Harbor. We have not been to the show before and I was wondering how big of a boat crowd gathers? How far north does the crowd usually go.

I'm not sure how far north the crowd goes. It starts around the PLAYPEN and goes north. North street beach is center stage. It is very crowded and choppy but definitely a great time. It sounds like the twilight show will be over Navy Pier and not the beach. I need to figure out the best place to watch that one.

Friday is less rough than the weekend and they run the full show as practice. The order the planes come out is different from the weekend. Hope to see you guys out there.

We dry stack at Withrop. We haven't decided on a day or time yet but would be happy to make a run down together if the timing works out.

I take it the rough water is from all of the boats running around in the area? Sounds like Friday maybe the better day. same show, less crowd, do you agree? Maybe we can hook up down there.

Won't return till Sunday though I have a slip at Burnham for the weekend

I will also be running down from Winthrop on Saturday. Expect a large crowd and bring a good anchor!

I'm sure we'l be down there on Saturday.
