Default Fort Myers beach area--any recommendations ??

Looking for any info/recommendations for a place to stay for a long weekend in Fort Myers Beach/Sanibel area. Me and the wife for 2-3 nights.

Any safe/nice hotels near the ocean ??? Any condos to rent ??

We will not be bringing our boat......

Never been there so any help is appreciated !!

Thx

We live right across the bridge in Cape Coral and sometimes when friends come down they stay in Ft. Myers Beach at Diamond Head Beach Resort and they love it, it's right on the beach.

I have a condo on FMB. North end of island is busy lots of traffic ect, south end of island less congested. Dimond Head more south and Pink Shell is north end, both very nice places. Great place headed out tomarrow for our Fort Myers Offshore fun run this weekend.

Smokin' Oyster Brewery has pretty good food if you're looking for a casual bar/restaurant. Fun place.

If you are looking for a "long weekend" getaway, try Tarpon Piont (just taken over by Hilton).
They have a water taxi to take you to Ft. Myers beach and it is a beautiful property..

ALOT of traffic at north end. so if you stay up that way it's a pain to get over the bridge and into fort myers.

the south end is alot less congested. diamond head is really nice. the tarpon point in the cape might be a really nice place idea too.

the sanibel harbor marriot has slips and is beautiful! no slips at diamondhead. Pink shell is nice too but you have to walk across the street to get to the slips. Lots of great boating down here. Im here
until march. Tarpon pt is beautiful but a pain in the ass to get there by car. good slips there too.
