Default Cobalt Performance Cruiser??

Anybody ever seen one of these? I was looking through craigslist and saw...

kind of cool with 525's! Would this run 85 or so? It looks like it has a step hull.

Default Nice Boat

From what I have read they run well with that power but I'm not sure about a true 85mph. Go to the Cobalt section of the Offshore Only Forums and you will find several discussions about these boats. Cobalt only made them a few years prior to the recession. I have never heard anything bad about that model and yes it was a stepped hull. I am a big Cobalt fan own two of them. The 343 is the boat I would like to own next but I'm very happy with my 269 Condurre and how it does in LOTO nasty. This would be the pinacle for me. In my mind Cobalts are built just as well as any of the top tier performance boats, but really are not engineered as performance boats in Top Speed. The 343 is the only step hull Cobalt has ever made so if you want a Performance Cobalt this is it.

LOVE that boat! biggest problem, would seem to me is that at that price range there are tons of great boats to consider. super cool though...just might be a hard sell to the offshore guys for the $$

Cobalt built the yachts in Vonroe, Tn, not Kansas where the 343 was built so that had no impact on the 343 being retired. The 343 simply didn't fit Cobalt's demographic.
The 525 powered 343 will run somewhere in the low 70's.
Teague did a 343 with some Ilmore V-10's.
As was suggested, check out the Cobalt section. There is quite a bit of information on the 343 in there.

I have the exact boat.

It runs low 70s on its best day.

Very heavy.

If it was a car it would be a Cadillac Sedan DeVille.

Great boat.
