Default buying out of state

What is the best way to buy out of state when you are shipping the truck? How do you setup payment and transfer of title so both sides are covered? Truck is in cali 2k miles away and don't want to fly out there and spend another 1500 on top of shipping the damn thing. How do I pay the guy while ensuring I don't get burned?

Person-to-person sale?

One way would be to find a friend (OSO member maybe) that is willing to assist with the face-to-face logistics on the far end.

If close to Idio/ palm desert I have a brother out there... Could use an escrow company, or do it thru a bank branch as well...

Yep 100% agree been there done that,,got screwed once and wont let it happen again....

I dont think the escrow will work either,,cant see the seller releasing his truck in hopes he gets his money once you inspected the truck and its 2k miles away

fly out and check out what your buying, if your worried about taking cash go to the bank there and get your wire and exchange for title and call your shipper/transport company and dont leave till you watch it loaded and the truck pulls away.good luck

only way to make sure YOU don't get screwed is if YOU go see the truck.
