Default Checking efi fuel pressure?????

I bought the guage, screwed it on the schrader valve. Turned the key on , waited to see the highest pressure. Set the regulator at 45lbs. Is this the correct procedure???????

Most EFI's turn off the fuel pump after a few seconds, if the engine is not running. It is better to check the pressure with the engine running. Not sure what you mean by " turn key on"??GEOO
