Unhappy Rub rail on Top Gun

Well I went to put a swim plateform on our new Top Gun tonight but it would not fit. After a few measurments we discovered that the fiberglass where the top and bottom of the boat meet (where the rub rail is attached) is 1" longer on the starboard side. Anyone else with a Top Gun discovered this problem? I can't believe that the mold could be an inch bigger on one side than the other. If anyone else notices the same problem please let me know. I want to know if they are all like this, or if mine came out of a f@#$%ed up mold!

I don't think the DCBs have that problem...

Funny you said that...Tony (previously from DCB) was with me when we were trying to put it on. We could not believe that the mold could be an inch off. But he did say that all molds are a little off, just not usually by an inch. Other than that he was impressed with the boat.

Cool

I had a similar experience when putting my tips & swimsteps on- apparently the mold insert for the outdrive was about an inch off in the mold....really threw me off...

When Carlos was doing my interior, I watched him put the rear hatch and seats in...he was just "eyeing" it. I asked him why he doesn't measure...he said the same thing...very few exact measurements on boats...

BTW...the upholstry is probably the only straight thing on my boat...
