Looking to take a week or so vacation to sight see from Catawba Island Lake Erie to St. Clair River race July 26-28.
Here is what I am looking for.
1. The best place to stay over night with a room and a dock for a 34' nortech. We want to be in the mid of action? Need to be able to dock and stay within walking distance to hotel?
2. Is there anything we need to see and check out between lake erie and st. clair river? Places to stay over night? places to hand out for a day or sight see?
Looking for best place to dock and stay for the 3-4 day weekend.
Thanks for the info.

Call Julie at Rivers Bend Marina - 810 329 2908 There's only one hotel on the river and I don't believe it has docks. That would be the St Clair Inn and I believe all rooms are already taken by race teams. We usually end up staying in Port Huron. See ya there.

Guys,
They don't even sell pit passes. It's all wide open and free. Check this out for a preview.

As for hotels, St Clair Inn is the place to stay, but it's always booked. The BlueWater Inn is just up the road and we've stayed there a few times...but usually we end up about 10 miles up the road in Port Huron at the Hampton Inn. Not much around St Clair in the way of hotels.
It's a cute little town and this is the biggest event of the year for them. They've been doing it 30 years or so, so they know how to throw a party. You won't regret making the trip. They we race in Port Huron and East Tawas too. See www.oparacing.org.
