Sugar island will be back open for public use this summer. Rules will be the same as our sister island Celeron.
No alcohol.
No camping.
No fires.
And only the West side of it will be available for public use. Hope to see you out there this year, and I hope this post brightens up your day, and summer!

Was on the island Sunday. Nothing has changed. Broken glass everywhere. People drinking on the Beach. I read somewhere, there were going to be trash recepticals, don't see thoses anywhere. If the DNR or what ever you want to call them plan to enforce any of these new rules, they plan to do it by surprise and bully tactics. Because of right now there are NO signs posted on the island. I would expect, over the holiday weekend, the Police to be doing just that. Runnin up and down the beach threatning and writing tickets for rules that are not posted or have really been anounced........ Memorial Weekend should be interesting on the island....
