I've been looking for a new engine alarm buzzer that doesn't cost $25! I found similar buzzers at radio shack for $8, but they have 3 wires (red, black, and a blue) where the one on the boat has two, (purple which is power, and a tan with blue stripe) Has anyone used one of these before? My guess is hook the 2 black and blue wires into the tan and blue wire and of course the red to the power...?

The radio shack one is probably wired 12v constant (red) ground(blk) and voltage sensing(blue) to activate the buzzer. You cand wire the red and blue to the purple wire and blk to the tan and be fine. Look at the wiring diagram that comes with the rad shk buzzer to be sure
