Default 8.2 Mag HO Question

I was going to change my impeller today looked all over for the sea water pump and it's not in the normal place on the merc. Does anyone know where it is on this motor?

Should be on the front starboard side at the bottom. Should see the drive pulley pretty easy but the pump itself might be hidden by the cool fuel module (I think that's what's there).

Thats where I see the lines going behind the cool fuel and I can see the pulley but can't seem to find the pump.

then maybe it might be a good idea to pay somebody to do it, maybe they will warranty it. Just sayin... also if the motor is a 2013 why does it need a new impeller already??

Motor is 2012 and I change my impeller once a year (cheap insurance) No sence in paying some one for something i have done my self for years. I need to look under there with a mirror tomorrow it's tucked under deep.

If you like doing headstands than by all means. Suggest you get a quote though.

you should check and see what the recommended service interval is for the pump, I used to change mine every year when I had 496's, but with the Yanmars they recommend every 4 years or 1000 hours!! I changed them at 350 hours which was about 3 years, they weren't perfect but still intact and pumping well. I would hope Merc improved the pumps on the new engines. Unless you are constantly sucking up sand or it is recommended every year you can probably wait.
