Default Overheating

I have a 27' PQ, 1995. Bravo big block. Took it out today and after about 6 Mel's, the oil pressure went down, and the motor started overheating. We let it set, and after a couple hours, we were able to start, motor was at 150 degrees, within a minute, 2 at the most, shot to 200 degrees. We parked it and got it towed. Any ideas? Stuck thermostat? Bad water impeller? Help!

Tear both of them apart and replace, both are cheap and easy to replace and probably the cause.

I keep both on my boat just incase. Cheap insurance, I even keep a spare sea pump ready to bolt up

If you find your impeller and thermostat are ok my bet is the oil cooler is clogged. They have small honeycomb ports in them the water runs through and if you ever suck any sand up in the engines it tends to harden in those ports and restricts oil cooling.
