Here we go again.
July 1st we had a new CEO start, old one was terminated, and he has decided some of us must go.
Tuesday the COO, CFO, Director of Marketing and one of his employees and the MIS Department Manager got the ax.
Yesterday the Project Manager of the only money making contract we have was let go along with a few secretaries, one person from our stockroom, a mechanical engineer, Project Engineer, our only machine maintenence person and a couple of others.
Today? Who knows.
For the survivors we have an all hands meeting this afternoon. At that time the CEO will unveil his reorganization plans and goals.

At one time we had over 1000 people here. Now we're down to 110-120.
The last two layoffs were painful since all those were friends that I've worked side by side with for 14 years.
One friend, who wasn't layed off, said "I don't know what's worse, being layed off or getting left behind".
Tough either way.

I hate days like this.

The same thing happened to me a few years ago... The boss called eight of us in a room all at once and said "Clean out your desks you all are fired"!! What a way to go...

SORRY TO HEAR OF THESE KINDS OF PROBLEMS. BUT ALOT OF TIME IT IS THE WRITING ON THE WALL. IT IS BETTER TO LINE UP ANOTHER GIG , AND JUMP SHIP. THAN TO STAY TILL THE BITTER END. THE SLOW BLOOD LETTING CAN BE VERY PAINFULL.

The worst one I'd heard of was when a local business held a company meeting outside. As soon as everyone was out the doors were locked behind them. They ceased operations at that moment. No one was allowed inside without a guard as an escort.
What a way to go.

Sorry to hear about your job situation.

I was supposed to be laid off two months ago, now it's a week by week thing. And the latest is I might have to transfer across the state.

IGGY - I am sorry to hear this.... It isn't easy either way.... uncertainty is very hard to live with.... Just keep putting one foot in front of the other & things will move forward.... Good luck...

That sucks I know the feeling some times it makes you feel bad for not geting let got and your allways thinking hhmm em I next in the back of you head. Jest hang in there I have been off about two months things will get better.

I know, and when they let people go,
somebody else has to pick up the job.
I'm now doing the jobs of 3 people.
10 - 12 hrs a days. It sucks but a person has to keep their insurance if they can, so, I
shut up and keep going. So many jobs lost, many have to go to KC to find work
but I don't think there is much down there either. And the economy is rebounding??

Just came back from a trip around the production floor.
Morale has hit an all time low. As if it wasn't low already.

At one time I had two helpers working with me, they were let go two years ago. Now I'm working 6-7 days a week to keep up. As of this Friday I'll have put in 105 hours over the tast two weeks. Several days this week I didn't get home till 8 PM and I start at 6:30 AM.
Do I have to tell you I'm tired?
I haven't splashed the boat in three months.

God, I hope it gets better.
