To me its a mid 30's boat. Thats where i would start. The one owner thing is pretty cool though.

jsut for a quick comparison, over on powerboat listings - there is a '72 where the transom has been filled for $14.9K..... or a '76 with I/O for $9.5K

Add the twin Mercs, rigging, console and glass work. It will add up quickly.

In the end it is a unique boat that cost more to build than it would probably bring - but that's on of the definitions of a boat - LOL.

I am with offshoredrillin - its overpriced, but then again someone bought the H.H. Scarab!

I would concentrate on the construction. Unlike a 28 open, this boat is a former sport deck that's been cut up. The fact that they finished it in splatter gel concerns me. What's behind the glass? Plywood or composite. Don't get me wrong. It looks great and they appear to have done a great job.... but you're 8 years in. At 10 many of the plywood CC conversions start to come a part - rot from the inside out.

I do like the re-use of the retro merc brow-bezels. Nice touch.

When pricing, consider the "break-up" value. Separate the specific components. There is no trailer. What are the motors worth. Hull. Steering. Etc. Best case scenario. 30k. IMHO this boat would be worth a lot more if it were an original 28 open with everything else rigged on her.

Here is a great project in the making... http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/boa/3905035927.html
