I finally got my birthday present from 2 years ago installed in my 255 Formula Liberator today. Man oh Man at the features these new radios have these days. In any case, i hooked it up to my Shakespeare 96" whip and sat down to make my first transmission.

I hit CH 68 with a quick identifier and asked for an equipment check...I got a quick response" "Five by Five..2 miles out of Lake Worth inlet Cap". WOW...I'm 12 miles from the coast inland and that's a 14 mile reach from my driveway!! This is a HOT radio!!

I guess I did everything right LOL!!!
