Planning on doing some boating this weekend. Looking for some tips on where to go. We have always wanted to venture south, ( Saugatuck, South Haven, etc. In reading some posts it sounds like we don't want to go to Grand Haven just to get hassled by the police for noise. Definitely do not go to an area where we are just going to be harassed and not welcome.
We are from Traverse City and never get harassed for noise, etc. around here. Our other option was to go to Indian River and do the Chain Of Lakes. We have done that trip many times, alot of fun just looking for something different.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help.
We actually ended up going to Saugatuck. Tied up at the Ship and Shore Motel and had a great time.
There is a launch right up the street from the Ship and Shore motel, right on the river. It worked OK for my 36, I don't think I would want to try to put anything bigger in there. Parked the truck and trailer right along the street. Would probably be a little difficult in the middle of the summer, but fine this time of the year.
Saturday we ventured down to South Haven. Cruised the river for a little bit than hit that bar right by the bridge.
Great trip, had a lot of fun. Would definitly do it again, but it must be the right time of the year. I believe it would be a little too congested for me in the middle of the summer down there!
