Question 572sc questions

Hello out there,

Questions for some knowledgeable & experienced engine people. Helping a friend with a rebuild project. He has some 572's.
Thinking this combo should produce about 1050hp-1075hp @ 5800-6000 rpm with 93 octane. (is this realistic ??)
Looking for reliability and lower maintenance hence using a hyd roller.

Specs: 572ci
Dart 355cnc heads w/ 2.30 intake valve
8.2 compression
BDS 1071 @ 10psi w/ intercooler
Nickerson 850 carbs
MSD ignition

Camshaft is a hyd roller ---
@ .050 243/251
lift .627/.632
LSA - 113

2" primary exhaust pipes

Here are the questions:
Does the cam need more duration? or what would you recommend
are the 850 carbs large enough?
do the primaries need to come up to 2 1/8" or 2 1/4"?
safe ignition timing?

Thanks in advance & much appreciated

Jim

PS-- long time lurker ( raced NHRA pro stock years ago, I'm familiar with motors, but not current w/ a marine BBC)

Sounds like a nice build. The cams are a bit short on duration for a 572 in my opinion. I'd also rather see some 1050CFM 4150 style carbs on it. 850's are a little light for a 572 and 10lbs of boost. I'd probably start with timing at 30-32* with the 4.5" stroke.

I'd probably be looking at cams with around 252/262 @ .050

Im not a pro, so you may wanna talk to Eddie Young, Haxby, Bob madera, etc.

I wanna say they made 1218hp with 12psi? Heads are box stock. No porting, hyd roller setup.

Keep em cool, no stats. Just get oil stats, to keep oil at operating temp.
