Buddy looking at this boat, I have no idea what this transom assembly is, anyone know?? I was thinking Volvo but not sure..

Yes. Volvo Penta DPX's. They were packaged with various engines from 385 hp 454's to 600 hp 540's. 500/525/600 hp engines were built by Innovation and are VERY good power. Pretty stout drives, but no longer made. Great handling and maneuverability. If the drives come with the boat, have a quick look at the lower pinion gears - that has been the wear point for me.

The engine/drive photo is of a DPX-A (mid-2000 through 2007). The drive hanging from a sling is a DPX-R (1996-2000). They share the same internals, but the DPX-A has sleeker styling, and the upper gearcase is integrated with the midsection (a bit more rigid).
