Opinions on a bare hull
#1
I am curious what everyone thinks the value is on a completely bare hull 30-35 foot in length, needs some paint work. Good shape and the only thing the hull has in it are the fuel tanks. I know it's a vague picture to paint but trying to put a resonance value on something one this.

Start with a finished, running boat that is similar year/size then deduct the cost of the parts as they come off down to the bare hull. I would expect the end number to be negative making the hull actually worth less than zero. Figure an old boat will need the tanks replaced and probably will have stringer/transom issues

I have to agree to zero value... you can always think you might not have a loan maybe, wich saves money in interest fees, also save on insurance cost since it's older and less value to insure... fact is when you will want to sell the boat, people interested in it won't be able to finance it, you'll end up side down in your sale... but you know what? you will also loose on a newer one, maybe more, depending on the value!
but to answer your question, math says a bare hull from those years is worth... actually is not worth !!! not a pennie ! on paper at least!
good luck!
