Default 38ft Fountain vs. 38 ft Scarab AVS

Whats the pros and cons here.

With same power what is the faster hull?
Which one takes the bigger water better?

Here we go again. Fountain 38 vs cig top gun round 2 sorta. Read the first 10 or so pages then it turns into something about hauling skanks and hoes. Equally entertaining.

Year for Year, the Fountain will be Faster with equal power. However, the AVS is a great boat, nice cabin, and will give a better ride in the Rough water. The Scarab is a true 38FT, the Fountain more of a 35-36FT boat. One downside with the AVS boats, is there aren't a lot out there, with enough power to break 75mph. Most had 502 Mags, or 500EFI's. Really depends on each individual boat and how its equipped, as far as which ones the better buy.

What do you think a 1999 38ft AVS with 500Hp's, bravo 1's with 28p B1's, CMI E tops, and crossover kits will turn top speed? The guy said GPS 82mph, but not sure I believe that, seems a little too fast for that boat setup. Then lets say a 42ft fountain with same power since a 42ft is more comparable size wise to a 38ft AVS

My buddy has a 33avs with HP500S that runs about 82 in freshwater. I'd think mid to upper 70's

It's tough to beat a 42 Fountain esp with staggered setup. I'd go for the 42 Fountain personally

This particular AVS has an aluminum tubular swim platform, not sure if that's standard or not.
