I have bought 3 rebuildable 496 motors complete from a ski boat with I/O's. Are there different wire harness for inboard motor than I/O's. And can I use these harness without the out drive connections. (Does the ECU care about the connection) I am hopping to use these unless I need to change.

Well I found out I have 3 different I/O wire harnesses. #1 has a 10 pin connection. #2 has a 14 pin connector.
And #3 has both a 10 pin and a 14 pin. So I assume I can use either? Any help.

stay with the 2 harnesses that have 14 pins iit will make it easier
