Looking for basic Trailer tires. Any recommendations?

15 inch? I buy used pick up truck tires for 35 bucks mounted. 225 75 15 are rated about 2100 lbs. trailer tires rarely wear out. they dry rot from a decade of sitting.

I bought Goodyear Marathons. Whatever you decide on, check the prices on tirerack.com. They have the best prices I've found and have arrangements with installers all over the country so you can get them mounted and balanced locally for a discount. You will get them fast too.

What about pre-mounted tire/wheel combos?

What are you towing? Boat trailer, Cargo trailer, Car trailer?
What is your towing regimen? Cross country? Local? Long weekend trips? Is the trailer always on the move, or does it sit for long periods?

15" tires are becoming harder and harder to find; especially when you are out on the road and in a bind.
Many folks are moving over to LT tires vs. ST tires for trailers. That's what most of the larger boat trailers ship with now.
If you are considering going to new wheels and tires, 16" is a smart choice if you can fit them. The bigger the tire, the lower the heat. Heat is a killer for trailer tires.

If it has to be an ST tire, Marathon is the brand that most folks have had the best luck with.
Carlisle is the least favorite.
Load Star is OK,

I just added another trailer and now I'm going to have to purchase those T07 5-Spokes for it.

Goodyear Marathons at Discount Tire Direct and have them mounted at Walmart.

I have had very good luck with Westlake tires. And they come in a 15". Not a very popular tire but they seem to hold up very well.

Cheap internet tires - just name most brands here.
Loadstar not too bad.

But if you want to put your big boy pants on.... Maxxis.
I have owned every trailer type under the sun including owning a Equipment Rental Store.
I have had every problem with Trailer tires on the road including ripping off fenders, tearing sheet metal, wiring etc.

I put a set of Maxxis on and never looked back including a 1500 mile trip and they still have no wear on them or scuffing.

This is the set I got this summer with some Sendel Viper rims. I bought them from discount tire, had them mounted, balanced and road warranty. If I get a flat, they fix it or replace it for three years.
