How about a movie like the Fast and Furious but with Offshore boats instead

To have it take place on the St. Johns River in Florida. The opening theme song for the movie should be Fuel by Metallica. To have the soundtrack consist of Rockn'Roll music with no rap. Not only would this be fun to watch but to have it also appeal to a broader audience. This would help out the offshore boat industry quite a bit with those who may never been into offshore boats and now wanting one. A list of boat companies in the movie I thought of MTI, Motion, DCB, Skater, Spectre, Eliminator, Donzi, Fountain, Formula, Baja, Scarab, Cigarette, Sonic, Active Thunder, Outerlimits, and Nor Tech. This is what I thought of.

And, if you want to GROW the sport, using music with a (more) broad audience with expendable income will help. Rap, EDM and pop are going to bring the (young) money onboard.

I love the enthusiasm, however it's just not realistic. Performance boaters (or boaters in general) are the minority. Not many people these days (or ever really) have an abundance of extra money for a toy (20,000-to the sky's the limit) that requires 100-200-1,000$ a weekend to operate and then another 8 hours to clean and maintain the toy.
I tell people all the time, it's either insanely expensive or a labor of love to own a boat. Most people don't want to put in the time and effort. It's just cheaper to go out on your friends boat 2-3x a year, pay for all the fuel and food and you'll be ahead 10 fold.
Sure you can look at them and say well they bought a nice car, but they usually drive that year round to work, jiffy lube changes the oil, and the car wash once a week in the summer. (Obviously I'm exaggerating some) but it's just not the average mans hobby.
With that being said. Damn right I'd watch the movie and buy a copy on DVD too lol.

Sorry about that I kinda got carried away. Before they were to buy a boat like any of these types they need to be educated on boats. whether having experience driving a smaller one or taking a boat safety course like Tres Martin. The movie would be a blast to watch however, the ones who never driven an offshore need to gain as much knowledge about them.

I agree with all above....
FandF 1 cost alpine 1m to have their speakers and amps in "some" vehicles "featured" in the movie. The end all was 13 seconds cumulative exposure to its target demographic.
1.3 or 1.? NA/Turbo/N2o......big market of "safe" cars that mom and dad feel fine with jr or ms jr driving.....not realizing the undercurrent of the hopped up aftermarket driving the "tuner" rage.....and thus.....willingly and blindly contribute to the growth of the market.
Offshore is a grow ups game....and most of us play it the same way the kids in the tuner market play it.....or the way we did when we were selling the story to our parents for our v-8 muscle cars.
Today is very different. A teen-tween is NOT funded by their parents for offshore. Phuck....I'd check my kids into rehab if they asked.
I would love to see a big budget hollyweird movie on offshore.......but the reality is it won't happen because the potential for profit via ticket sales does not exist....

That happens to me A LOT.
One other not-so-small factor is the production costs involved with ANYTHING on the water.
