I believe there was close to 50k in this Mag. I have talked to many about this Mag who said they were buying it but ?????? Even with all this history & great condition it's a hard sell. The Short Circuit may hold the longest racing history of any Magnum as it raced from 1976 to 2005 winning many races and championships along the way.

Pete that's why when I'm ask how should someone restore a Magnum or any classic offshore I tell them whatever makes YOU Happy. Classic offshores wont be going any time soon to Barrett Jackson or to the Concours d'Elegance so enjoy & have FUN using them up. Mark

,,
you are right, restored boats should be done for your own enjoyment - pleasure and not as a possible future money maker, very few,, if any will ever bring the return of what has been spent on doing the restoration. even if we do most of the work ourselves.
Thank you
jim

Sadly this doesn't bode well for good insurance coverage for the boats we restore for fun and for ourselves!
I have more than the "Buy It Now" from the auction invested in my Magnum 27 and I'm not even done yet, had Short Circuit been FS when I started it would have been a no brainer to buy it, even when it came up FS I should have bailed on my project . . .to own that would have just been way too cool, and fun!
It's so hard to decide which path to take, build or buy used, and I work with clients on restoration of classic cars every day . . I ALWAYS advise them to buy the best most expensive example of what they want vs. buying the cheapest . . sounds like I need to learn from that!!!
