Default Merc 700sci valve springs

Can anyone recommend a good replacement spring for these motors? I believe they come with Comp's, but Merc wants an arm and a leg for OE replacements. Would Isky's be a good repalcement???

Thanks in advance for the help....

I used Isky 8005P and retainers in my 575sci after roller conversion. I am not sure what exact spring your application takes, but many have used Isky as replacements with no issues.

You can also seek Comp direct and save money from Merc

These Isky's are a popular replacement.

Pac springs

Or I am pretty sure you can use the Crane

Crane 99896

Isky makes a few springs that fit the bill I believe. The Tool Room series are top of the line. They lower cost springs are good too.

Like Mild Thunder said, our PAC springs are the best cost effective direct replacement if you are keeping the rev limit and valve train pretty much stock.

If you are going for something more high performance during rebuild, ISKY Tool Rooms are the way to go.

Remember to change the retainers and locks too, which we can provide for either spring.

Call Eric at the shop if you have questions!

As always thanks for the help... We are keeping everything stock, and have decided with the isky's.

Surprisingly, the boat has 250 hours and everything looks great on the internals
