Tampa.......drop in off Gandy on the Tampa side one time.....just to run under the skyway and get that pic.

But really for fun and all that drop in at Seminole boat ramp or east bay ramp at the bridge. Then boat over to honeymoon island and 3 rooker ( both north of those ramps).

Lots of fun places to dock up with Gators being the main spot. Also if hot out toss an anchor behind Sheppards.

Shephard's used to have an "all you can drink w/wristband" night during the week. Think it was Tuesday or Wednesday in the spring. If you can remember specifics, you weren't there. Ahhh, memories (partial, fuzzy ones, at least.)

I didn't have a performance boat back then, but I did have a ZX12R... Pre-flight at the G.I. on Westshore, race to Shephard's, rely on the kindness of some college girl/townie/waitress to get home, retrieve bike next day. (O.P-G.I. is Green Iguana, and it used to be a decent place)

Ok. We are looking at launching from the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Was looking online and saw a few mentions about 3 rooker. We are planning on a day trip to the area. Leaving Orlando around 7 am and will get there around 9ish. One thought was hitting Hogans near the launch for a bite to eat. Also figured we could run down to Sarasota as well.

Any places to be worried about? Figure the area will be pretty well marked.

Hogans will be a nightmare by boat, thin channel and no real markings.....drive there and save the headache.

Also I won't say don't launch from the causeway but it is far from everything. I would say stay on the causeway down to Clearwater and into Seminole boat docks...that's me.

At least do the Gandy ramp and save some drive and Hula bay is right there too. Also that ramp goes right out to the skyway and then it's an easy drive to Sarasota.

Be warned....the waves can turn up good under the skyway area.

If you like to beach and explore, we liked going to Egmont Key for a long walk.

Ok.. Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the heads up on Hogans. We are definitely looking forward to exploring the area as much as possible. Plus Gandy works if Chris' mom wants to join us as she lives not far from there.
