I know lots of people use the v6 modules as an alternative to buying complete ignition systems but it seems to me there oughta be a way to either disable the advance all together or jump it to see full advance at all times? Im not much of a gas engine guy but i would think it could be done. Anyone???

I am not aware of a way to do that with the Merc Ignition.
I have had good luck running CD ignitions on my blower engines for years. I used to have MSD marine boxes, but after 2 of them crapped out on me within a year, I bought 2 new Crane Digital boxes. They been working great.. You can use them with a Merc Distributor and run the timing locked. I paid around 200 bucks each for my cranes. Built in adj rev limiters. The daytona sensors boxes are a bit more money, but awesome pieces.
