Question NBOA Insurance, What's the deal???

Hey everyone!
So, tell me, what's the scoop on NBOA insurance. Good, Bad, okay? Who uses them and how is their customer service and claims?

I got an attractive quote from NBOA this morning and it is the best rate I've been able to find.

Should I dump Boat-U.S. for them? Current Boat-U.S. policy runs me 1380 a year and NBOA wants 1062.

Thanks in advance!!

I have my deposition with them tomorrow. I originally filed in small claims with the hope that they would just roll over and pay me. Instead, I now have a jury trial in small claims. Apparently they would rather fight me than pay 50% of the agreed value.

I use NBOA and I switched from Boat US I could not beat their rate, saved 35%. I have never had a claim so I do not know what their customer service is like. I was concerned about changing from Boat US only because cheaper is not always better, but with 15 of the 35% savings I increased the coverage of my homeowners, kind of like you would cover a ring or computer to offset any possibility of loss. I have heard from a few dissatisfied customers, like cord, but with large companies like these I chalk it up to the odds.

I use NBOA. I think they are in bed with Baja which is why their rates are so low. I pay $900 a year. They have built-in tow coverage also. I think they give you about $200 a year to spend on towing which is good for at least one tow.

Thanks 29!
Was that the first quote they gave you? Did you have to work them a little for the $900? I got a quote of $1062 for a smaller boat.

The deposition went well. Because they were insisting on using their mediator there will proably be no mediation. This means that we'll be going to trial in the next couple of months.
