Has anyone ever taken their stainless steel prop and put a mirror finish on it at home can it be done? I'm guessing not but wondered if anyone has tried or been successful.

of course it can be done just need the right tools/supplies

it can be done, it's a dirty and time consuming process. you will need to make a solid holder for the prop too.

harbor freight has a polishing kit and all of the different polishing sticks to fit a common drill.

How much time (guessing) would you have invested on doing a three blade 31 pitch prop

I've got an old wool pad for my buffer i use with an aggressive compound. Time consuming and makes a mess but nothing like a mirror finish on a set of cleavers. Just make sure not to use that pad on the boat ever again. You'll really have a mess.
