Hi everyone,

My boat was sold yesterday and looking to move to a cruiser now ( family reasons) , so this particular boat I am looking at has twin 454 horizons FWC with 400 hs.
Now I have read that this particular horizons (inboards) have had some water ingestion problems especially in sea ray sundancers 340's,now I know this is no fast boat but was hoping someone here shares any info they might have regarding this set up.

I am not familiar with the Horizon 454's but they are basically GM built engines that Horizon marinizes. The main reasons for reversion are camshafts that have too much overlap (doubtful in this case) or improper installation that does not allow proper clearing of the exhaust piping. Also if the risers are not high enough this may allow reversion.

Try over at The Hull Truth ,com they are more cruiser oriented.

the horizons are just Mercruiser's inboard version of 454 mag adapted for a big boat application. As far as I know the internals etc are all the same. The reversion problems were caused by improper exhaust design on some of the sea rays. Hope that helps.
