Wondering what people use. I have a diesel excursion so it is not an issue however my father recently passed and left a mint 06 Escalade to me. Truck is in Arizona so my first thought was to sell it there. Then I thought it may pull a 32....anyway just curious.

Sorry to hear about your father...
I'm sure the escalade will pull it however, the excursion is the better choice IMO.

I used to tow with an 06 Denali which is the same 6.0l awd power as the escalade, the gas mileage was about the worse I had ever seen, maybe 5 mpg. The truck alone used to average about 12.
As far as towing, the vehicle IMO feels unsafe with weight behind it, I hear the long wheel base esv are better. The air ride works over time keeping up with significant tounge weight. Overall I would rank it below an average half ton, even tho the power and some drive line components are 3/4 ton stuff.
I didn't like it

it will get the job done for sure! It did for me with same set up! however, any half ton truck with leaf springs will be better than the air suspension. Can't have it all!
air suspension = more comfortable = softer
leaf spring = more rigid = better for towing = less comfortable not towing
