Get guys I had the weirdest thing happen to me and I wanted to see if anyone has had this issue. I was breaking in my new motor(94 350) and after running it for about an hour I saw milky substance in the valve covers. I pull the drain plug and oil is like a cream color but didn't look like water in the oil. I pickle the motor in diesel change the oil and filter and ran the motor for 4 hours and it didnt happen again. Do you guys think it could have been the grease they used to build the motor?

I just did a cam swap on a SBC. I used a FT cam and Comp break in oil. When I drained the oil it wasn't what I'd call milky, but it did have a shiny tint to it.

Yeah, it's scary seeing all that shiny crud in there. It's a combination of the cam break in lube and fine metal shavings from new metals wearing together.

You likely don't still have the old oil do you? If so, let it sit in a container for a few days and the water should settle out if that is the issue. If not, then you have better news.
