Default Hubs for 4 blade Bravo props??

I was told the hubs from my Mirage plus would work, they don't, the bub bottoms out on front of the bravo prop and does not sink in the back for the washer, is there a different hub for these 4 blades??

Here is where 12 Years at Mercury pays off. LOL

We changed the inner hub on the M+ and B1 in 1998. Actually main line Merc props did. If you have a Mercruiser B1 casting the insert from your Mirage would work but because the B1 casting you have is a Mercury Marine casting, the bore is 1/4" shorter and you need the K12 insert instead of the K11 insert you are using. Here is a link to the insert you need to buy.

In addition to that issue, according to your photo, you are missing the forward bushing in the insert you put into the prop in the photo.

Call us if this doesn't make sense to you.

Yes the front of the mirage prop is probably 3/16" or so lip... The front of bravo is like 3/8" lip not allowing insert all the way down so yes I figured there was 2 models of props.... I do have all the parts just not in pic...

Either insert will bottom out if the snubber strips are lubricated. If you use the correct insert there will be a 1/4" gap to allow for the step on the thrust washer. If you use the incorrect insert it will be flush with the prop casting and the prop will not fit into the gear case properly.

I have ran into this before also, You will just have a bigger gap between the gear case & prop , I don't think it will hurt anything? or you can mill 1/4 off the longer hub

Having the thrust washer contact the insert AND the prop casting is a good idea.
