Default Exhaust question

I just bought this Baja Outlaw with a 454 mag and its a little too quiet for my liking. what can I do to open it up a little without sacrificing my engines life? right now it has quick and quiet mufflers with a crossover. the tips have a rubber flapper and up inside I can see some sort of a baffle. I would like more sound but I am new to these kind of boats and a afraid of water entering the motor through the exhaust.

Long as the flapper is in place you don't have to worry about getting water in the exhaust. I have the baffle I could put in my exhaust but I don't unless get on a lake with a restriction. My baffles bolt in so it does not take much to put in or remove. I'm not real sure how your are locked in place.

so you think just removing the baffles will help? or remove the mufflers and baffles? or just the mufflers and leave the baffles?

Remove the Mufflers and H pipe. Someone will pay you some good money for them.

Some of us live with loons and 'LOONATICS' who made crazy quite laws and speed limits.

Freakin loons. The wake me up at night. Noisey Bastards. Must be people making laws who don't live nearby. LOL.

The rubber flaps will help prevent water from going up the exhaust to the motor when you launch it at the ramp. You will definitely get a louder sound if you cut out the baffles inside the mufflers. A previous owner of my boat did just that and I think it sounds pretty good. But the captains call or quick and quiet definitely has its advantages when you want to have a conversation onboard.

X2 what SB says. Had the Corsa Q&Q on my 454 mag. Just finished removing OEM manifolds, risers, Corsa Q&Q and tips (will be looking to get rid of old exhaust soon). Treated myself to some Imco Powerflows with custom "A" risers and new angle tips. I like the cleaner look and it is a bit louder than the Corsa exhaust.

Not true. Those flappers can wear out, as well as blow off when running, and you would never know it. If removing the mufflers & H-pipe; I'd advise installing new exhaust tips with internal flappers as well.
