Lake George is great, I keep my boat there. The inspections is a cake walk, just make sure there is nothing hanging of your trailer (weeds) and the bilge plug is out. Island camping is a ton of fun, hanging in the village is fun, good resteraunts to boat up to and chill. Lots of rafting areas, etc.

I would suggest staying in the Glen Island or Long Island group (you will know what I'm talking about when you go to reserveamerica to book a site) these groups are the southern and middle groups which are closer to LG Village. I do not camp on the islands so really can't provide much more info than that. Don't let some of the negative stuff about speed limits and inspections deter you, it's a very nice lake with a lot of things to do. There are docks with metered docking at the south end in the village, they do get crowded on weekends, if you can swing it, make your time here during the week as it's much less crowded. Mark
