Default Detroit H1 Gold Cup Races

I haven't seen or heard of any advertisement about this weekends Detroit Gold Cup Race. This race is over 100 years old and not to many people know about it. To me that is a big problem, if you don't advertise any event no one will know about it and come and that will be the end of those events eventually. This goes for any races or events you have to advertise in advance to peek peoples interest in them. I will be attending both days as a always get notices as a ticket holder but others don't. Just thought that I would put it out there for others. Really miss the Navy Tactical Jet Fighter show that was cancelled about 2-3 years ago, it was the best and hope they get it back.

No sponsor no press sadly. I loved seeing those boats race and I'm old enough to have seen the Allisons and Merlins run. Even remember as a kid seeing them when they ran with the engine in front.

You mentioning the Merlin's brought back a flood of old memories I didn't know were floating around in my moldy mind. Those were truly great days.

Phuuuuck! From that view it appeared he barely hit a bump and ... liftoff.
Gotta be a damn scary feeling at those speeds.
