Default 1995 Avenger prop advice

Hello looking to move to a least a 4 blade prop on my 1995 Avenger with stock 502s. Anyone have any test information or suggestions on upgrading to new props on this boat? Any information would be great, have heard of many people using different pitched prop set ups but all so different I am not quite sure where to start, thanks in advance for any help.

I have not tried 4 blades yet, but was told the 25 Mirage Plus is still the best choice for top end. What are you running now?

I just purchased it this year, old owner was running 25p Quicksilver props.

Given it is an older non-stepped hull with the drives deep in the water I would say stick with the Mirage Plus 3-blades. If you are having troubles getting on plane (props blowing out) Brett at B-Blades can make changes to your props to assist with that.

While mine does not struggle to get out of the hole, you need to limit initial throttle to 3000RPMs, or it will blow the props out immediately.

I’m running BBlades labbed 25p Mirage plus props. I have stock 502mpi mags and hit a touch over 70mph gps 4950 rpm in ideal conditions and 68 all the time. The labbing gained me a good 1mph top end with no losses at lower speeds. I’m about 38-39mph gps at 3000 rpm. I have a set of used 26p bravo 1s that gained me 1-2 mph mid range but lost 3-4mph top end with a wot of about 4600 rpm. Labbing them would probably make them a great all round cruising prop.
I have tried the 25p revolution 4 props but didn’t notice much difference over my labbed 3 blades other than a lower planning speed.

Hi Josh, yes Mark still has your old Avenger, We both Rack store our boats at the same marina. We just got back about a week ago from P.I.B., and do boating together in Lake St. Clair, Huron, and Erie. Mark has maintained and upgraded your old boat with an open check book so it’s in real good hands. If you’re on F.B. there is a Powerquest owners forum if you’re interested, you could also send us friend requests too if you want to see our boating pics.
