Default Broken teeth on upper gears in Bravo One outdrive

Hey guys.. Need some advice please. We just finished a poker run this weekend but unfortunately my run ended sooner than later. I have a 272 boss with a 502 mag and bravo one. As I pulled into the first checkpoint and backed off the throttle, there was a loud knocking coming from what seemed to be the drive. We parked the boat and pulled the drive off yesterday to inspect. As soon as we pulled the bottom screw I could see shavings. After digging deeper we found broken teeth on the upper gears. Looking online, it looks like a new upper gear set is about 1700. Any recommendations on getting them any cheaper? Also are there any higher end/performance grade gears I should consider since I'm already in this for a decent amount of $$ it looks like.

Thanks for your input.

You probably did a LOT of damage to the lower also. Look for a new used Bravo drive.
