Hi everybody. Hopefully can get some advice here on a water pump question question. Have bravo one's, been running low pressure on the starboard motor since recently running at high speed. Seems i may have bravo-itis which needs addressing separately, and don't have the skills to handle all by myself. In the meantime i figured i'd replace the impeller and housing, since it developed a leak (likely due to the stress of reduced water flow). Took it apart this morning, impeller looked ok but found a crack in the housing, replaced em both. Buttoned her back up and fired it up to find that the water pump is ejecting water from 2 holes on both sides. Didn't find anything about this when i searched for info. Can anybody help me out with some advice... What did i do wrong?

Thanks for the input folks. Just got back home tonight and will remove it from the boat tomorrow. I now believe that i replaced the oil shaft seal with the smaller o-ring included with the water pump kit. That smaller o-ring was the same size as the oil shaft seal, and it wasn't apparent (to me anyways) where else it would go. Learning the hard way lol.

Update: After taking it apart (and with the feedback above) i realized that i hadn't place the o-ring wrong, the seals had just blown out. Yes you can laugh at me for not knowing the difference between the seal and o-ring
So... i bought the water pump rebuild kit for 60 bucks from amarket.com which aside from the bearings and seals also included the impeller and housing. Don't have a press and could use some help with the project so took it to a mechanic friend's shop to rebuild the pump. Aside from some complications getting stuck racers out (now i know what those are lol) and with some overenthusiastic pressing, it was pretty easy. Water pump spins smooth as silk again, brought it home got it installed and took a short test run, no leaks. Ready to hit the water again tomorrow since it'll be 85 degrees!
The sketchy part is that we broke the body of the water pump pressing out the axle (see pic) but my buddy was adamant that it would be fine with some JB Weld. Once it was back together i also thought it would likely be fine given how the body bolts to the housing with the pressure plate in between. Anybody think thats crazy?

I might run it like that to put it on the trailer but no more, get a new housing before it leave's you stranded, buy a new complete one, so you don't have to mess with a press, good luck

Ok thanks for the feedback gents. It got me out on the water last weekend but will get a replacement. Wouldn't feel the need if hadn't cracked the body though. 30 bucks for the seals/bearings vs 600 for a new pump! Baby news new steps down into the cockpit would rather use it for that lol.
