Default Bbc valve cover question-hardin extreme

Can anybody tell me if you can remove bbc/454 hardin marine extreme valve covers with stainless marine exhaust installed.
Or is my only solution to go with 2 piece covers.
Thank you in advance.

I have socket head fasteners on the angled valve covers with SM exhaust. I have removed mine but it's not a five minute job. Not all that bad but you need a ball end allen socket or ball end allen wrench for the socket head bolts. I think it'd require a swivel socket using six or twelve point fasteners. Twelve point wound be my choice. If you use six point bolts you're working space will be even more limited.

1/4" drive Allen socket with a swivel and extension on battery impact driver less than 5 minutes both valve covers.

I'm not too fired up about using power tools on a set of aluminum heads. I'll spend a few more minutes with hand tools. Installing helicoils or timeserts and extracting broken bolts isn't my favorite thing to do.

I have the angled valve covers with Lightning headers on mine with studs on the bottom which is the way to go as it holds the gasket in place. FWIW they also fit my JOMAR stud girdles and still go on and off very easy.

The 2 piece make access to valve train a simple job. The extremes make a doable job for access and any others make access to valve-train a nightmere!
