Default 1985 Kaama

Hi guys. Im looking at possibly buying 1985 Kaama 302 flat deck. The owner says the boat has the original engines. I see the Kaama badge on the side of the ex manifolds and on the chrome valve covers. Did the factory engines have roller rockers? He stating they are the factory 450 hp. Where can I find serial numbers and info on what motors Kaama offered on this boat. Thanks

Pretty sure Inovation out of Sarasota built the Kaama motors and they did come with Crane gold roller rockers but I think they were 425 hp not 450.

some good info on this post here.

I guess Hardin originally built them as 425s for Kaama but layer Inovation took over the build for Kamma and they became 450s and they had some reliability problems according to the thread poster there.

To my knowledge they came with a few different HP ratings over the years and I think a couple different engine builders. 450 was an option at one time as was 405. Get some engine pics. Look for a badge on the valve covers and the type of exhaust. The innovation motors were by the same company that is still around today. I had heard those were the good ones to have. Mine lasted a long time.
Update- just pulled out my engine owners packet which lists a 300 HP small block, a 375 HP big block and a 425 HP big block. I personally know a 405 and a 450 was offered at some time as well.
