I just got off the phone with the Grand Haven Coast Gaurd Group and they are NOT at this time planning on CLOSING the river channel. They will secure a perimeter around the north end of the race course and not allow anyone to turn south until they are about 2 miles offshore. But at this time they are NOT closing the channel down. They told me this would cause more issues than leaving it open (apparently they have tried this before with little success and LOTS of complaints). They will however limit you to the north side of the channel once you pass the Coast Gaurd Station heading out to the lake. So hug the north wall on the way out and you should be fine.

I am still putting in at Muskegon though.

Oh, and while running around with their other Super Cat (the old Jelly Belly boat refitted and wearing numer 111) the Cat Can Do boat did some damage to it's starboard motor. Left a blue smoke trail that was probably visible from commercial airliners miles above!!!! It was still hanging over the lake 20 minutes later!!!!! Looks like he burned a piston or something with the amount of smoke it was sending up. I drove by their shop later in the day and they were feverishly changing the motor out for another one. Good thing they are a local team!!!!

And WHM Motorsports has backed out of this race. Too bad for us!!!!
