Default 33 avs speeds?

Looking for some real world input here. So I've decided that while I love my boat I want a stepped hull for the speed advantages. My friend has a 35 fountain big step with less power than mine but it's a solid 13 mph faster than mine. I want to hear about 33avs speeds. So if you have some real world experience post your hp and gps speeds. Thanks.

Rebuilding power now, but my 33' w/ hp500s got 80mph even.

Not sure how nailit's friend got mid 80s - maybe he has boxes too.

Indy, don't you have the Scarab School Boat?

I know when I spoke to the owner of the P31 he said his boat ran 80 mph with the HP500's. I would think that your hull and the P31 are the same layup schedule. What speeds are you running in your boat now?

My boat runs high 80's but takes a lot of power to get there. boat ran 82 with stock 502's with m1 procharger at 4 psi.

I use to have a 98 33 AVS with 525 SC with intercoolers and solid cams. Motors made around 625 hp. Boat ran 93 at best. GREAT boat.

That seems inline with what I was thinking. That boat would be easier on parts than my boat running wetter and slower.

Do you have boxes on your boat?
