I have an old mercruiser engine. It has a serial code of m0922ra. Iv tried doing research but I cant seem to find what year model or any info on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get the block casting number off the port/ rear side of the block. It's back where the bellhousing bolts up, then run those numbers. It'll give you a time span at least.

That is an invalid Mercruiser serial # - I ran it for you and like said above, that doesn't even look like a serial by them as I thought the exact same but still ran it just in case.

If you have a title of the boat that this engine is in or the title of the boat that this engine came out of - a lot of states will post the outdrive and engine serial #'s on the paper work and or titles. No not states al, l but a lot do.

next what is it a V-8 350 Gm, inline 6, or is this a Ford old Mercruiser app ?

till BUP posted last line we were all assuming big block chebby. actually it is the most valid question of all...

If I recall the Mercruiser 454 started in 1974 with an inboard serial # starting 37 and in 1977 Mercruiser sterndrives for them with a starting serial # of 426 and before that was the 427 CID in which those serial # stated out with 2???, starting in the 1968 or 69.

- none of the OP serial # s match anything from Mercruiser as the closest thing would 0M but the ra does not fit anywhere as what he posted.

OP says older - how much older than the 0M as these started in 2001 but not even as far as the rest of his serial # posted would match anything in the 90's or the 2000's.

Maybe some pics and a lot more info here is needed like how many cylinders and is this V -8 or an inline engine and GM or Ford engine. Yes Mercruiser did use Ford way back and others.

m would be where it was assembled and 0922 would be september 22
