Grand Haven — The Grand Haven Dept. of Public Safety is investigating an attack at the Coast Guard Station.

According to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety, a male suspect crashed his truck through the station gate around 6:00 a.m. Sunday. He then broke in and assaulted Coast Guard personnel.

The suspect, who was subdued and arrested, threatened to have explosives in his truck.

Authorities say the man is not a resident of Grand Haven, a city of about 10,895, located 34 miles west of Grand Rapids. They are not sure whether he acted alone.

All Coast Guard personnel are safe.

It's about some stupid cross that was removed.religious kooks.

Stupid cross? Slow down, buddy. Not only is that offensive, but at this point there is no motive.

I made myself clear in the first post. You assumed that someone attacked the station because of a 'stupid cross' (that's the offensive part, in case you didn't get that), even though there's been no report of why this nutcase busted down the gate. Not sure how to further elaborate from here.

What??? In my town? See what happens when you take God off of Dewey Hill? Isnt it ironic how nothing has ever happened like this and all of a sudden they take the cross off Dewey Hill and now we have an attack on the Coast Guard station.

MichiMike, this thread was not started as any dispute, religious debate, or assumption of motive. It was merely informative as to actual events that occurred. In due time the circumstances will all come to light, until that time it's all just speculation. No need to chit on anyone or stir the pot.

I find it interesting that tolerance and diversity are only expected from those of us with certain values, any yet most of the intolerance and hate speech, comes from those who oppose certain values.

The good news is I dont care about why this happened,,,,,, it did.
Tolerance /diversity /intolerance/values.........not my problem son.
