Default Powerplay 185-XLT

Hey guys , new member / powerplay 185-xlt owner .She's yellow / gray , 260 mercruiser , euro windshield , 172 hrs on meter. (sorry , no good pics yet , bought it a month ago and shoved it in my garage.) I picked it up from a guy that's owned it since 1990 . I had a couple questions for you long time owners . To those who stayed stock power , what prop do you like best ? P.o. has gps'd it at a hair over 62 with a 21 Vengeance on it , so I'm guessing there may be no sense trying to get any more. 2nd question , did they come factory with the Hr gauge in the engine compartment ? Mine does and I've seen pics of others with the gauge in the same location. And 3rd , mine has what appears to be the original trailer with matching pinstripes and the Powerplay decal , but is made of Stainless Steel is that rare ? Thanks for any help and letting me into this great forum .

Well... with stock power most people use a 21p Mirage or even a Laser 2. 62 is pretty dang good speeds with stock power and you find most with stock get between 58-62. Ive seen quite a few with a hour meters and believe they did come with them... but I highly doubt your trailer is Stainless steel. I have the original trailer and its just painted over steel. Hope this helps and welcome to owning a piece of history... the xlts are getting more rare every year.

And read this thread below, it will tell you everything you need to know about our boats...

Sounds like the boat runs good with that prop. I've seen them with the hour meter in that location as well. All the origonal trailers I've ever seen were painted steel, made by integrity if memory recalls, But I guess it's possible someone custom ordered it. PP did some special stuff for the New York dealer out there.

There's a massive thread on the XLT that an old member named Travis started, I looked but couldn't find it because I think he changed his name. Maybe one of the old timers can remember the thread.

Orig. owner lift Queen bought new in 89 back when they were in just the little pole barn. Bone stock except risers have a Turbo 13.25x21p, Mirage 21p, and a
Stiletto 13.25x20p. 58mph with either 21's low fuel. I use the Stiletto most to keep rpm's up so I can stay on plane at a slower speed as I do most boating on
Lake Mi... based out of Holland....never know when 1' chop turns into 4' so like to be able to make it back to the lift. Hour meter was an option. Factory trailer
with the diamond plate was from Integrity in Nunica, Mi

Wow both of those boats look great! One of the original owners of powerplay lives down the road from me and has one of the first or second 185's. Great boats
